The Mangar Camel patient lifting cushion deflates flat to lift someone who has fallen, using single-handed care techniques. With an inbuilt backrest and internal ring construction, the Camel offers a stable, supportive lift and is constructed from extremely strong, durable polyurethane coated nylon. Using the simple hand control and compressor provided the Camel is inflated with ease. The Camel can be used anywhere, inside or outside, and will lift a fallen person with dignity while protecting both the carer and the person being lifted from injury. The Camel will lift up to 700 lb/320 kg and is perfect for bariatric patients. It packs away into a lightweight, compact bag for easy transportation.

Clinical Indications

The use of this product reduces the moving and handling risks to the caregiver, including musculoskeletal conditions. The camel is suitable for use with dementia patients, due to the supportive structure of the chair, and it does not require a caregiver to maintain physical contact with the patient during the lift. Reduces the chance of a long lie – lifting a resident within one hour of a fall is vital to avoid the damaging consequences of a long lie including dehydration, increased fear of falling and pressure sores.
